The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a warning about a series of problems affecting RAM brand trucks. These issues may compromise the safety system of these vehicles, potentially increasing the risk of road accidents. Therefore, it’s essential to check if you are an owner of an affected vehicle so you can visit the dealership as soon as possible for repairs.
Where the problem lies and which model is affected
The issue identified in these trucks is due to a damaged part that may cause the wheel speed sensor to malfunction. In fact, this same issue can also lead to the deactivation of electronic stability control and, consequently, increase the risk of an accident. This is considered a stability control problem. Specifically, the automotive group, Stellantis, carried out a massive recall of more than 30,000 Ram trucks in the United States, due to a mechanical issue in the vehicle’s steering.
The affected RAM model is the 1500 (from the year 2025), with an estimated 33,777 vehicles impacted. These trucks were manufactured between October 13, 2023, and August 11, 2024. However, according to RAM, only about 1% of these vehicles have been recalled. In the following section, we indicate how the manufacturer will notify you to be informed about this news related to vehicles.
Manufacturer Stellantis will send notifications about affected RAM trucks to dealerships
The RAM 1500 manufacturer, Stellantis, is informing dealerships and will send notification letters for these recalls by mid-December. Inspections will be conducted, and any defects will be corrected by replacing the bearing rings free of charge if they are found to be damaged.
Therefore, any RAM truck owners who have already paid to repair this issue may claim a refund from the manufacturer. In such cases, it’s important to have proof of payment for the repair to serve as documentation for the claim.
